So Let’s Talk – Starting the Conversation

Meet the founder of So Let’s Talk, Patrick Howley and find out what drove him to open up the conversation about mental health in hospitality.

Patrick Howley is the founder of the not for profit platform So Let’s Talk. After 14 years working in the hospitality sector, and experiencing first hand how the pressures of working in the industry can affect people and the destructive habits to cope can be formed, he set out to start the conversation the sector needed.

Watch the video below where Patrick tells the story of how So Let’s Talk came to be and how he wanted to create a platform where people can talk and find the vital support that is needed for anyone struggling in the industry.

Now more than ever, people in our sector need that support, and to feel that they are seen and valued. Our frontline hospitality workers have experienced some of the most turbulent times of their careers, from long periods of furlough and reduced income to working tirelessly to implement the stringent COVID secure guidelines in their venues as well as reassure and build confidence in customers.

We’ve teamed up with Patrick and the team at So Let’s Talk to provide some free resources that recognise the challenges faced by hospitality team members and how we are working together to address these issues and provide practical support and advice. On Thursday 4th February we are recognising Time to Talk Day, and our resources will help form part of the conversations about mental health and ending the stigma around talking about it.

We want to help So Let’s Talk 86 the silence around mental health in hospitality.
